Creative Concepting/Brainstorming
Blue Sky....anything is possible! Alot of times, the greatest of ideas and campaign ideas come from the craziest and off the wall of ideas! I've been concepting creative since midway through my career, from almost singlehandedly coming up with surgeAssure's entire branding campaign to simple ad headlines with Lazydays.
Art & Creative Direction
I've held the positions of both Creative Director and Art Director, managing small teams of designers to an entire company full of them. I know how to speak "the lingo" to creative-types and get everyone working towards that common goal.
Photo Shoot Direction/Coordination
At Lazydays, I was tasked with the responsibility for Art Directing all the visual aspects of RV SHowcase magazine (circulation 250,000) and that included directing and planning for alot of photo shoots as well. From hiring and selecting models, to concepting and planning the shots themselves!
Concept Presentation & Pitching
Once the design is done and the ideas planned out, it's time to pitch it to the client! I've had extensive experience with this througout my career, making client presentations and "selling" clients on the "whys" of a great campaign.
Software/Techniques Instruction
Yep...I'm a huge nerd. No doubt. I love "tips and tricks" types of magazines for Photoshop and other graphics programs, and I've always been the guy that everyone asks "how to" do something. I share knowledge willingly with clients and coworkers...I love it!
Design Dept. Procedures/Organization
I've had the experience in my career of going into small design departments, from Franklin Packaging to Lazydays, where there are few if any procedures and processes for getting jobs through the system. I've written procedures, figured out and implemented digital filing systems and basically streamlined the production part of design departments.
The Extra Mile
When the other artists are heading out the door at 5....well, I usually am too! (Hey, I've got 5 kids!) But throughout my career I've always been able and willing to work overnights and weekends for clients to get the job done!
